Export Manager (FMCG/F&B)
Role Overview : The Export Manager will own the end-to-end export execution for Upbound across priority markets (initially Korea, Dubai, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore). This role ensures compliance with local regulations, smooth logistics, correct packaging localization, and commercially viable export operations.
They will partner closely with Sales, Finance, Regulatory, and Operations to deliver seamless market entry and ongoing export flows.”
**Key Responsibilities
- Export Operations & Documentation**
- Manage all export documentation, customs clearance, and duty requirements.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, logistics partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure accurate HS codes, tariff applications, and duty optimization.
2. Regulatory & Compliance
- Work with Regulatory Executive to localize packaging/labeling per country requirements.
- Ensure all product registrations and certifications are completed on time.
- Maintain zero regulatory rejections and ensure full compliance with destination-country laws.
3. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and track shipments from production to destination.
- Troubleshoot supply chain issues and minimize delays.
- Ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of export orders.
4. Commercial Support
- Partner with Finance to structure export pricing and margin management.
- Provide costings, duty/tax impact analysis, and landed price visibility.
- Support Senior Sales Manager during negotiations with data-driven insights.
- Risk & Damage Management
- Anticipate and mitigate risks across regulatory, logistics, financial, and reputational areas in export operations.
- Ensure all shipments are properly insured and manage claims in cases of cargo damage, loss, or delays.
- Maintain strict compliance with international trade regulations to avoid penalties or shipment rejections.
- Monitor duties, tariffs, and logistics costs to prevent margin leakage.
- Implement SOPs for risk prevention and provide timely escalation and recommendations to management.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular export performance reports covering shipment volumes, timelines, costs, and margin impact.
- Track KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, regulatory pass rate, and damage/loss cases.
- Provide management with actionable insights on export trends, risks, and cost optimization opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of all export documentation, customs clearances, and compliance audits for reference and accountability.
7. Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with Marketing/Design for export packaging updates.
- Provide input to Sales for distributor onboarding and export forecasts.
- Coordinate with Production & Warehouse on export-ready stock and quality checks.
Future Scope
- Build scalable export processes to support expansion into additional markets.
- Develop playbooks and SOPs for repeatable export execution.
- Potential to grow into a regional export lead role, managing junior staff.
KPIs / Success Metrics
- On-time shipment rate: 95%+
- Regulatory pass rate: 100%
- Export margin health: aligned with Finance targets
- Volume growth: consistent increase in shipped volume per market

Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in export/logistics, preferably in FMCG or food & beverage.
- Strong knowledge of export regulations, customs, HS codes, and shipping terms (Incoterms).
- Experience coordinating with regulatory bodies and packaging localization.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver.
- Collaborative mindset — able to work with Sales, Finance, and Operations seamlessly.
- Bonus: existing network with distributors/importers in Asia & Middle East.
