Sales Representative (FMCG / F&B)
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven Sales Representative to grow Upbound’s presence in cafés, gyms, and off-trade channels. This role focuses on building strong relationships with outlet owners, driving product placement, and ensuring consistent sell-through. The Sales Rep will be the face of Upbound in the field — introducing our hydration and performance drink to new accounts, managing existing partners, and ensuring execution excellence on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Identify and secure new accounts in cafés, boutique gyms, yoga/Pilates studios, co-working spaces, and other off-trade outlets.
- Pitch Upbound products to decision-makers and negotiate commercial terms with support from the Senior Sales Manager.
- Achieve targeted new outlet openings monthly.
2. Account Management
- Manage relationships with existing partners to drive reorders and maintain shelf/fridge presence.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with replenishment, and coordinate with distributors/warehouse for timely delivery.
3. Trade Activation & Execution
- Work with Marketing to execute in-outlet activations (sampling, small events, collab campaigns).
- Ensure visibility through POSM (posters, fridges, counter stands) and premium placement in outlets.
- Provide feedback on competitor activity and outlet trends.
- Order, Delivery & Payment Handling
- Personally deliver products to cafés, gyms, and off-trade outlets as part of sales visits.
- Handle COD (cash on delivery), PO, and invoice-based orders directly with outlets.
- Ensure products and invoices are delivered together, with proper acknowledgment from outlets.
- Collect payments accurately and submit to Finance according to company SOP.
- Maintain delivery records and reconcile stock/outstanding payments daily.
5. Reporting & Insights
- Submit weekly reports on outlet visits, sales performance, competitor movements, and market feedback.
- Track KPIs: number of new outlets, sales volume per account, reorder frequency, and activation success.
- Provide insights to Sales & Marketing for product positioning and growth strategy.
KPIs / Success Metrics
- New outlet acquisition target (cafés, gyms, off-trade) – monthly/quarterly.
- Volume sold per outlet and reorder rate.
- % of outlets activated with POSM/branding.
- Customer satisfaction and retention (measured via reorder consistency).
Requirement
- 1–3 years of sales experience in FMCG, beverages, or lifestyle brands (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, energetic, and comfortable with fieldwork and outlet visits.
- Passion for wellness, fitness, and lifestyle brands a plus.
- Ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an advantage.
- Possess own transport for outlet visits.
